Hi, I'm Gabe!
I'm a Los Angeles native who was raised in a very musical family. Where the normal living room consists of furniture and a coffee table, the house I was raised in had a mice- up drum kit and a steinway piano ready to record at all times. I began piano lessons at the age of 5 and fell in love with writing at a young age. I had my first opportunities to compose for television and film at the age of 16 and in tandem with my love of movies, I felt a calling to pursue incorporating my love and knowledge of music to bring the visual art of film to life. Performing has always been a part of me. I had only a few subjects I excelled in in school and those were drama, play production and music tech. My teachers in drama were the most influential I had, as they pushed me to pursue acting and performing.
When I was 23, I had been performing in live rock bands all around California and acted in some theater and films/commercials. One day, I got a phone call that changed my life. It was for an audition, as the role of Elvis Presley in a show called Million Dollar Quartet. On my lunch break, I headed over to the audition which I was about half prepared for. I learned my lines, but had to remind myself how to play a few chords on guitar. The audition was hilariously one of the most awkward in my whole career. So how did I end up booking? I saw that there was a piano in the room and asked if there was anything I could audition for on the keys. They said yes, for the role of Jerry Lee Lewis. I sat down, and played a boogie version of Flight of the Bumble Bee. Immediately, the tides shifted in my favor. Laughter encased in relief exuded from the panel of judges before me, phone-cameras were quickly recording me, and at the end, the casting director was following me out to my car asking if I could stay and read some sides.
This day lives burned in my mind as it then moved me to Las Vegas, working aboard cruise ships, and touring the United States for 6 years. After the pause for he pandemic, I found an ad looking for singing pianists aboard cruise ships. I found a home on Holland America Line performing in a show called Billboard Onboard where I met my partner in shows and in life, Meagan Eishen. We have been performing, traveling and growing our business for 3 years.
You can currently find me performing onboard Holland America Cruise Line in their duo-pianos venue, Billboard Onboard. (Check out my HOMEPAGE for current sailings).
